Terms of Service
Last updated 24 June 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use stringsembassy.com.au or buy lessons, courses, instruments or rentals from Strings Embassy and its instrument arm Domenico Dragonetti Instruments (ABN 53 589 705 924), Sydney, Australia (“we”, “us”). By booking or purchasing from us, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Lessons & courses
- Lessons are scheduled by mutual agreement. Times, location and format are confirmed in writing (email or message).
- Fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed. All prices are in Australian dollars (A$) and include GST where applicable.
- Cancellations: please give at least 24 hours notice. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, are charged in full.
- We may reschedule or substitute a teacher if unavoidable (illness, emergencies). Where this happens we offer a make-up lesson or credit.
- Online courses for teaching artists and educators are non-transferable. Access remains available for the period stated at purchase.
3. Instrument sales (Domenico Dragonetti Instruments)
- Each instrument is hand-selected and set up by our luthier and artist team. Sizing is matched to the player on request.
- Orders are confirmed once payment is received. We may decline or cancel an order with a full refund where stock or description errors occur.
- Returns & exchanges: instruments may be returned within 7 days of receipt if unused and in original condition, for exchange or store credit. Shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Faulty goods are covered by your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
4. Rentals
- Rentals are billed monthly in advance. A bond may apply and is refunded on return of the instrument in good condition (fair wear and tear excepted).
- You are responsible for reasonable care of the instrument, including suitable case storage and humidity. You must not modify or attempt repairs yourself.
- Loss, theft or significant damage must be reported promptly. The renter is liable for the replacement value, less any applicable insurance.
- Rentals may be ended at any time on 14 days written notice and return of the instrument to our Sydney location or by agreed shipping at the renter’s cost.
5. Payments & invoicing
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store full card details. Invoices and receipts are issued by email after payment. Late or failed payments may pause lessons or rentals until resolved.
6. Conduct & safety
We are committed to a respectful, safe learning environment for all students, families and teachers. We may decline or end services where conduct is unsafe, abusive or contrary to these terms; in such cases unused, prepaid lesson credit is refunded.
7. Intellectual property
Course materials, recordings, the Intelligent Practising Method, written content and images on this site are owned by Strings Embassy and its contributors. You may use materials for your personal learning, but may not reproduce, share or resell them without written permission.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to lessons, courses, products or rentals is limited to the amount paid for the service or item in question. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be at this URL with the “last updated” date above. Material changes that affect existing bookings will be notified by email.
10. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Questions or notices: music@stringsembassy.com.au.
