Privacy Policy

This policy is maintained by Strings Embassy and its instrument arm Domenico Dragonetti Instruments (ABN 53 589 705 924), based in Sydney, Australia (“we”, “us”). It explains how we handle personal information collected through stringsembassy.com.au, our lessons, shop and rental services. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

• Contact details — name, email, phone, and postal/billing address when you book a lesson, enquire, or place an order.
• Student details — age, instrument, level and learning goals where relevant to lessons or courses.
• Order & rental details — items purchased or rented, delivery details, and rental term information.
• Payment information — processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Account & usage data — if you create an account, your sign-in identifier and basic usage data (pages visited, device/browser type) to operate and improve the site.

• To deliver lessons, courses, shop orders and rentals.
• To communicate about bookings, schedules, and follow-ups.
• To process payments and issue invoices/receipts.
• To respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
• To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing emails without your consent.

We share limited personal information with trusted providers who help us run the business:

• Stripe — payment processing and invoicing.
• Shopify — shop checkout and order fulfilment.
• Supabase — secure database and authentication for accounts.
• Email and hosting providers — to deliver transactional emails and serve the site.

These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations and may process data outside Australia.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and understand site usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but some features (checkout, account access) may not work without them.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and as required by Australian tax and consumer law (typically up to 7 years for financial records).

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to close your account. Email music@stringsembassy.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you have a complaint, you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Many of our students are minors. Where a student is under 18, we deal with the parent or guardian for bookings, payments and account matters.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be at this URL with the “last updated” date shown above.
